If you resign before completing 1 year of service, no gratuity is paid. In some cases under older unlimited contracts:
  • 1–3 years → ⅓ of 21-day gratuity
  • 3–5 years → ⅔ of 21-day gratuity
  • 5+ years → full gratuity amounts (21/30 days)

Employers are generally required to pay the gratuity and all end-of-service entitlements within 14 days of contract end.
